Health Level Seven, or HL7 is set of standards for the exchange, integration, sharing and retrieval of electronic health information. The standards, which support clinical practice and the management, delivery, and evaluation of health services, are the most commonly used in the world.  With HL7 you can electronically receive an order from a referring physcian at a clinic, hospital or private practice, and electronically deliver not only the report but also the charges (technical and/or professional components) associated with that report.
